Ingredients

For the apples:

  • ½ cup water
  • 2 large apples
  • ½ tbsp butter, melted
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

For the topping:

  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tbsp butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Place the ½ cup of water in the bottom of the air fryer basket and set aside for now. (This will create steam that keeps the apples moist as they cook).
  • Cut the apples in half lengthwise through the stem. Use a paring knife to cut a bit around the core, then use a spoon to pop the core out.
  • Spread melted butter over the flesh of the apples, then sprinkle with ¼ tsp of cinnamon.
  • Place the apples in the air fryer basket, cut side up. Cook at 350 degrees in the air fryer for 8 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the topping: Combine the rolled oats, cinnamon, brown sugar, softened butter, and pecans in a small bowl.
  • When the apples are done with the initial cooking phase, divide the topping among the apples and air fry again for another 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees F, or until the apples are soft and the filling is golden brown.
