    6 Healthy Frappuccino Recipes to Keep You Cool This Summer

    July 5, 2016 by Chrissy Carroll 2 Comments

    These 6 healthy frappuccino recipes are nutritious and delicious – perfect for a summer treat!

    I admittedly love a good Starbucks Frappuccino.  There’s nothing like that caramel one with the sugary drizzle that they put on top of it.  That said, it’s not always practical – from a budget or health standpoint – to have those regularly.  {Though don’t get me mistaken, I do indulge in them occasionally.}

    Instead, I love whipping up my own versions of blended coffee drinks.  They can be a fun & tasty treat on a hot summer day, and with these better-for-you versions you don’t have to worry about derailing your diet.  Here are a couple of my own recipes along with a bunch from fellow dietitians that had some delicious frozen coffee drinks and frappuccino recipes to share.

    6 Healthy Frappuccino Recipes

    1.  Iced Peppermint Mocha Smoothie from Homemade Nutrition

    I’m not personally a minty kinda person, but I know I’ve got some peppermint lovers in the crowd.  This is a lovely blend of mint, coffee & cocoa to cool you down.

    2.  Skinny Pumpkin Frappuccino from Snacking in Sneakers

    This Skinny Pumpkin Frappuccino recipe is a perfect blend of fall flavors, but you can certainly enjoy it any time of the year!  {And let’s be real, it’s only about another month and a half before everything pumpkin starts rolling out in stores and shops.}  Plus it’s only 114 calories per serving.

    3.  Chocolate Toasted Almond Mock-a-ccino from Jessi Haggerty

    I love that Jessi uses dates to sweeten this baby.  And that chocolate sauce topping?  Um, YES please.

    4.  Mocha Banana Smoothie from Snacking in Sneakers

    This is a kind of like a version of my favorite banana peanut butter recovery smoothie, but instead of peanut butter I add in some coffee instead – yum!

    5.  Protein Packed Skinny Frozen Mocha from Nutrition Starring You

    21 grams of protein in a coffee drink?  That’s right!  A little whey protein powder goes a long way in this frozen mocha.

    6.  Salted Caramel Swappuccino from Abbey’s Kitchen

    If you haven’t seen one of Abbey’s videos yet, you’re in for a treat – check out this awesome look at some healthy Frappuccino recipes.  My favorite one in the video is the salted caramel swappuccino – which is vegan and perfect for all you dairy free folks!
