If you want a way to jazz up anything from grain bowls to roasted veggies, you’re going to want to make this arugula pesto. It also happens to be a great way to save extra arugula in the fridge that’s nearing the end of its life. Made with just a handful of ingredients, this pesto is great for adding flavor to pretty much any meal without a complicated recipe.

    Ingredients

Here’s a photo of all the ingredients you’ll need:

Arugula, lemon, parmesan, olive oil, pecans, garlic, and salt.

    How to Make Arugula Pesto

You’ll find the full recipe amounts and instructions in the recipe card below, but here’s a helpful overview with photos and tips. This recipe is so easy!

All you need to do is just toss all your ingredients in the bowl of a mini food processor and process it until combined. That’s it! Easy peasy.

    Recipe Tips

Serving suggestions: This pesto is super versatile. I use it in my recipe for roasted veggie and quinoa bowls often. I also love it mixed with roasted potatoes or over other roasted veggies. It’s also fun in a grilled cheese, over chicken, or in place of the basil pesto in this burrata pesto breakfast toast. Literally so many options!

Prepping ahead: You can make this and store it in a jar in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.

Freezing: Feel free to freeze extra pesto in small portions. An easy way to do this is to freeze in an ice cube tray, then transfer to a ziptop bag. Whenever you need a little pesto, you can defrost a single serving or two.

Use as a flavor shortcut: Prepping a batch of this over the weekend gives you an easy way to amp up dinner during the week. A scoop of pesto plus a starch (like pasta or quinoa), protein (like chicken or salmon), and whatever veggies you have on hand = low effort meal that still tastes great.

    More Flavor Boosters for Meals

If you’re looking for more creative ways to add extra flavor to a meal, be sure to give one of these a try:

    • Chipotle Greek yogurt sauce – great for adding creaminess and a little spice to tacos and burritos
    • Watermelon hot sauce – spice up anything your heart desires!
    • Carrot top pesto – another fun pesto variety that’s a great way to get more use from the whole carrot plant
    • Beet dressing – a dressing that is lovely on a variety of salads and grain bowls

I hope you enjoy this arugula pesto recipe! If you get a chance to try it, feel free to leave a recipe rating or comment below.
